Casper Spuds Become The Cutthroats For One Night At Mike Lansing Field

Even though Wyoming doesn't have any professional baseball teams, there is an interesting baseball history here, especially in Casper.

It was just a few years ago that the Casper Spuds came to town and mashed the hearts of fans. Paul and Kristi Hack, along with their family and, at the time, partners, knew that the team could succeed in Casper. They were right. The Casper faithful attend the games, enjoy seeing Spudly out and about, and love to kick back and watch America's pastime, baseball.

As I mentioned, there's a long history of baseball here. After the 2000 season ended, Casper became home to the Casper Rockies, an affiliate of the Colorado Rockies, which later became the Casper Ghosts.

The Ghosts were here until 2011, then they moved on to Grand Junction. Casper wasn't without a team for long, because in 2012, the Casper Cutthroats came to town. The Cutthroats thrilled fans through 2014.

Because the Spuds organization loves baseball and its history, especially in Casper, they're throwing it back this Saturday. For one night only, the Spuds will play as the Casper Cutthroats.

If you were a fan back then, and you still have some Cutthroats gear, break it out, BABY! If you show up to Mike Lansing for the "Cutthroats" and Lumberjacks match-up, you'll get in half off.
