Voice Your Thoughts On Wildlife At Wyoming’s Conservation Forum
When it comes to the outdoors, most Wyomingites are all in and are ready to lend a hand or an opinion. This summer, the Wyoming Game and Fish Department will bring together Wyoming hunters and anglers for the Governor's 2026 Sportsperson's Conservation Forum on June 26 in Gillette.
This year will be the third year of the forum, and it is an option for those who hunt or fish to interact with the state's leadership on how they feel wildlife management is going, or should be going, and other outdoor policies.
WGFD Director Angi Bruce said that they're looking forward to bringing the hunting and fishing community together.
The collaborative dialogue at this event helps us better understand our state's needs, and ensures we are stewarding Wyoming’s wildlife in a way that truly benefits our stakeholders.
The all-day event on June 26 will cover a wide variety of topics, including:
- Mule Deer Conservation Strategy: An overview of current management and recovery efforts, as well as Game and Fish’s new strategic approach.
- Engagement and involvement: Guidance on how the public can effectively make its voice heard in the management process.
- Effective policy making: An analysis of the components required to build durable and lasting conservation policy.
- Landowner investments in conservation: A look at the role private landowners play in wildlife habitat and how sportspeople can foster better partnerships.
- Public access: Perspectives on maintaining and expanding access to Wyoming's outdoors.
- Wildland fire recovery: Lessons learned from recent fires and current strategies for prevention and habitat restoration.
If you're interested in joining the forum, tickets are $25 each and are available here.
