Yellowstone National Park Raises Fire Danger Level
Yellowstone National Park officials increased the park's fire danger level from "low" to "moderate" today due to recent warm and dry weather, according to a news release.
The park has not placed new fire-related restrictions or closures for now, but it says these guidelines and recommendations remain in place:
- Campfires only are allowed in designated fire rings in 11 developed campgrounds and most back country campsites.
- Extinguish campfires and make sure they are cold to the touch after use.
- Fireworks are not allowed in the park and on other federal lands.
