Waking up early is one of my favorite things. I enjoy seeing the world wake up. Early morning smells are great, and in my opinion, it's the quietest time of the day. When I wake up early, I'm on my way to work, but others are starting their day by heading to the YMCA to get in a workout, swim laps, or soak in the hot tub.

If you enjoy an early-morning swim or soak, you're going to have to put that on hold for a few days. To ensure the safety of every member at the Y, the lap, family, and hot tub pools are closed and being drained due to an incident that left broken glass in the area.

The process isn't like your bathtub, you don't just pull the plug, let it drain, and fill er right back up. Because glass was involved, the crew had to drain, vacuum, and inspect to ensure that all the glass had been removed before adding water and chemicals. That doesn't happen in a matter of minutes; it's likely the pool area will be closed until at least Friday, and that's not even a guarantee.

According to a post on the YMCA Facebook page, a dropped phone or tablet may have been the reason for the closure. One false move, and boom, not only are you or your kid having to buy a new phone because you've shattered yours, but you are causing the plans of others to need to be altered. Be careful with those products in the pool area, and keep an eye on your kids while they use them.
