When you think about fly fishing in Wyoming, how often do you think about heading to Laramie?

If you answered "not very often," maybe you should start thinking about it.

The Pokes may not be close to the Top 10 in college football at this point of the season, but that doesn't mean UW isn't showing up on a Top 10 list.

Lords of the Fly (@flylords) is a social media account followed by more than 375,000 people and is all about fly fishing news, tips, and stories.

Their motto is:

Inspiring anglers to protect the water we love.

If you're just beginning to fly fish or you've been at it a long time and want to learn something new, you should follow the account.

When the college football season started, Fly Lords put out the Top 25 College Towns for Fly Fishing list, and Laramie, WY, came in at #2.

There were specific criteria used to determine the top 25, and according to Fly Lords Mag:

While some schools have excellent trout fishing, others may have diverse offerings of species and fisheries. To properly rank the “best fly fishing colleges,” we judged each school on three criteria: diversity of species, proximity to water, and student fly fishing/conservation organizations.

It's always cool to see Wyoming in the Top 10, and it's even cooler to know that an outdoor activity got us there.

It's also fun to read the comments and see how the people from the college towns who didn't make it are being so whiney.

Check Out the University of Wyoming Wrestling Facility

The University of Wyoming Wrestling facility is fabulous. Here's a look at where our UW wrestlers hang out and train. The facility is located in the basement of the UniWyo Sports Complex.
