The Countdown Is On For ‘A Home for Steamboat’s’ Release
Wyoming has many legends, but one stands out more than the rest. I don't need to say the name; I can show you a picture, and you'll know precisely the legend I'm referring to.
You guessed it, Steamboat. The legendary Wyoming horse that could not be broken.
Wyoming holds Steamboat in high regard. You see his resemblance on every Wyoming license plate, flying high over many buildings, on the uniforms of University of Wyoming sports teams, and on our radio station's logo.
The question is, how much do you know about Steamboat? Casper's award-winning duo of author Casey Rislov and illustrator Zachary Pullen are ready to help you learn.
The highly anticipated book A Home For Steamboat will be released on April 15 after years of research, creation, writing, illustration, and collaboration between the two highly successful artists.
Tax Day is stressful for many Wyomingites, but with the book's release date on the same day, it could be a great stress reliever to kick back and read about one Wyoming loves.
Even though the release is in April, and we're still in mid-March, much excitement is building. You can pre-order a copy of your book at A Home For Steamboat.com or the limited-edition package from Backwards Distilling Company in Casper.
The family-owned and operated distilling company has partnered with Rislov and Pullen to release a unique 'A Home for Steamboat' bourbon package.
The Steamboat package includes many collectible items, including the book, a bottle of custom-labeled bourbon, a coaster, a print, and other cool Steamboat-themed items in a custom box. Again, the package is a limited edition, so if you wait to order yours, you could miss out. Pre-order at Backwards Distilling Company; when April 15th hits, you can get your package.
Another exciting Wyoming-themed promotion to help get you ready for the book's release is a 30-day countdown and playlist release.
Over the next month, many Wyomingites who are excited about the book's release and want to help will participate in the countdown on social media.
Including yours truly.
Also, there will be thirty songs (one per day) that have a direct connection to Wyoming. The artists are from Wyoming, and the songs are all about Steamboat, or at least Wyoming. Every big movie has a soundtrack, and A Home for Steamboat may be the first book to have a soundtrack. How great is that?
As we prepare for the April 15 release, Casey and Zachary plan a book signing tour and release-day party. The party with Wind City Books will be held at Frontier Brewing on 2nd St in Casper. It will include a book signing, a live reading of the audiobook by narrator Steven Spicer and musician Chad Lore, and a taste of some of the songs released on the A Home for Steamboat soundtrack.
Stay updated at A Home for Steamboat.com, and prepare for a fantastic next thirty days.
