This is a food recall that hurts. Duncan Hines has just recalled a bunch of their cake mixes because of potential presence of Salmonella.

This recall was announced by the Food and Drug Administration through a press release. Here's the short version of what they said.

Conagra Brands is collaborating with health officials in connection with a positive finding of Salmonella in a retail sample of Duncan Hines Classic White cake mix that may be linked to a Salmonella outbreak that is currently being investigated by CDC and FDA.

There are several Duncan Hines cake mixes being recalled. Here's what to look for on the box according to the FDA.

  • Duncan Hines Classic Yellow Cake 15.25oz - Product UPC 644209307494
  • Duncan Hines Classic Butter Golden Cake 15.25oz - Product UPC 644209307593
  • Duncan Hines Signature Confetti Cake 15.25oz. - Product UPC 644209414550

All of these cake mixes have "best if used by" dates of March of 2019. Check the official FDA recall page to see if any cake mix you have is affected by this recall.
