Arson is being looked into as the possible cause of a small fire at a Casper apartment complex around midnight Saturday night/Sunday morning.

Details are few at this time, but officials with Casper Fire EMS say that the fire occurred in the common area of a "multi-family" dwelling on Boulder Drive in South Casper.

"Investigators are not ruling out arson at this time," says Casper Fire EMS spokesperson Craig Kidder.  "The fire was extinguished by residents of the apartment complex."

Calls to the Casper Police Department requesting comment were not immediately returned.

The hallway common area in the apartment complex seem to have suffered no significant damage to the structure, and residents of the building were seen inside the apartments as well, Sunday afternoon.

Kidder went on to say that investigation into the fire is ongoing.
