Behind the numbers: Wyoming vs. UNLV
LAS VEGAS, Nev., -- Zero.
That's the number of Mountain West titles in Wyoming's trophy case since Craig Bohl arrived in town back in 2014.
When asked about that after the Cowboys' 34-14 loss to UNLV inside Allegiant Stadium Friday night, the head coach was in no mood to chat about championships.
"I understand your question," Bohl said, when asked how hard this is for him personally to accept. "I can tell you this, I'm just more disappointed with how we played tonight. Coaches live in the present, so that's a global-perspective question that you have."

Wyoming's title hopes are no more. With that setback -- the team's fourth this season, all on the road -- the dangling carrots that remain is an eight-win season, a Paniolo Trophy with a win over Hawaii and snapping a six-game skid away from home in the finale at Nevada.
Not quite as sexy as a rematch with Air Force for a conference crown, huh?
Check out some stats and numbers from the Pokes' loss in Sin City:
1
The number of Mountain West Championship game appearances since Craig Bohl arrived in Laramie back in 2014. Josh Allen and the Cowboys hosted San Diego State in the 2016 title tilt, falling to the Aztecs 27-24 on a bitterly cold night inside War Memorial Stadium.
6
That's the number of consecutive losses for the Cowboys away from home, including a 30-27 overtime setback against Ohio in the 2022 Arizona Bowl.
19-41
That's Bohl's road record while the head coach at Wyoming. Only one of those victories -- a stunning 44-17 rout of Utah State back in 2021 -- came against a Mountain West team that finished the season with a winning record.
21
That's how many points UNLV scored in the first quarter Friday night, finding the end zone on its first three drives of the game. Quarterback Jayden Maiava scored from 10 yards out and added a 1-yard touchdown run on the second possession. Jai'Den Thomas ran it in from seven yards out on the third drive.
14
Wyoming answered with that many unanswered points in the second quarter. Quarterback Andrew Peasley ran one in from 32 yards out to put the visitors on the scoreboard and wideout Wyatt Wieland dove in from a yard out to cut the Rebel's lead to seven.
2
That's the number of turnovers the Cowboys committed in the first half, including a Peasley interception to UNLV safety Cam Oliver at the goal line with just 12 seconds remaining in the second quarter. Peasley was also stripped on a sack in the first quarter.
9-of-15
That's UNLV's third-down conversion rate in this one. Maiava and Co. picked up three of those critical first downs on a third-quarter drive that essentially put this game away. Wyoming's offense was just 3-of-11 on that money down.
397
That's the number of yards the Rebels racked up in their eighth win of the season, 165 of which came on the ground. Maiava was 17-of-24 through the air for 232 yards. He also tossed a 5-yard touchdown pass to tight end Kaleo Ballungay with 2:46 left in the third quarter to give the home team a commanding 28-14 lead.
144
UNLV wide receiver Ricky White finished with that many yards on just eight catches. The Michigan State transfer was last week's Offensive Player of the Year in the Mountain West after hauling in 165 yards and two touchdowns on eight grabs against New Mexico.
33:30
That's UNLV's time of possession in this one. Wyoming's offense held onto the ball for just 26:30.
3
That's the number of double-digit play drives for the Rebels in the second half, all ending in points.
11-of-22
Peasley completed just 11 passes on the night for 144 yards. He also threw an interception.
69
That's the number of yards Wyoming's senior signal caller rushed for -- a season high -- on 14 attempts. Peasley also scored on a 32-yard touchdown run in the second quarter.
29
That's the number of rushing yards running back Harrison Waylee amassed in this one. The junior transfer from Northern Illinois, was benched over the first 15 minutes against UNLV because of a "violation of team rules." He finished with just eight carries.
72
That's the number of receiving yards Wieland finished with against the Rebels on just five catches. Wieland also scored a touchdown on the ground in the first half.
9
That's the number of tackles both defensive tackle Jordan Bertagnole and middle linebacker Easton Gibbs racked up against UNLV.
0
That's the number of quarterback sacks the Cowboys finished with in the loss. As a team, Wyoming had just three tackles for loss. UNLV, on the flip side, tallied three sacks and tacked on six tackles for loss.
0-for-1
That's how John Hoyland capped his night. Wyoming's All-American placekicker missed from 52 yards out in the second half. It was his sixth miss over the last five games after starting the season 9-for-9.
25,568
That's the announced attendance tonight inside UNLV's Allegiant Stadium.
6-4, 3-3
That's Wyoming's current record after dropping three of its last four games.
14-12
That's the slim advantage Wyoming now holds in the overall series against the Rebels.
6-0
That's the Cowboys' record inside War Memorial Stadium this fall, including wins over Texas Tech, Appalachian State, Portland State, New Mexico, Fresno State and Colorado State.
16-11
That is Wyoming's all-time record against Hawaii, its next opponent. The Rainbow Warriors will pay a visit to Laramie next Saturday for a noon kickoff.
Correction: The original version of this story listed Craig Bohl's road record at 18-51. It is actually 19-41. We regret this error.
