If you're a person who enjoys celebrating that you're beginning another year, you may hold your horoscope and birthstone in high accord. If you have no clue what your birthstone is, hang on, I'll give you the list.
If you've lived through a harsh Wyoming winter, you probably have a pretty good idea which months have the most common birthstones.
Go ahead; I'll give you a second to think about it.

If you guessed October, that's not correct. It makes perfect sense that the Opal, October's birthstone, would be Wyoming's most common, but according to research done by Elemetal, it's not.
I understand your thinking, though. During January and February, in the cold, dark, lonely Wyoming winter, it's likely a major winter storm could hit and leave you stuck inside for days at a time. If you're stuck inside with your spouse, playing cards by candlelight gets old after a while.
The most common birthstone in Wyoming is Emerald. Elemetal researchers analyzed CDC birth data to determine which birthstone was associated with the month of Wyoming's highest number of births from 2007 to 2023.
Using the CDC data, we were able to find the total number of babies born in every state and county in the U.S. by month, which we used to find out the most common and rarest birthstones in every state
Emerald may be the most common, but what birthstone is the most popular for Wyomingites?
According to Elemetal's Google Analytics, it's the birthstone that should represent the babies born from that cold, dark, lonely Wyoming winter we discussed earlier: the Opal.
