Natrona County law enforcement agencies are again partnering with Casper's westside Walmart to give underprivileged children an opportunity to Shop With a Cop this holiday season.

"This is an awesome community event that law enforcement officers look forward to each year," says Casper Police Department Detective John Hatcher.

The program gives children ages 3-12 a chance to shop with a law enforcement officer at Walmart for holiday gifts, including gifts for themselves and other family members, on Dec. 9.

Families who wish their child or children to participate must submit a completed application form no later than Nov. 27. A committee will make selections, giving priority to families who have not participated previously, though all applicants will be considered seriously.

The family must reside in Natrona County, the child must be present on the shopping day (Dec. 9) in order to receive a gift card, and the child must be able to separate from their family while shopping.

All Natrona County law enforcement agencies will accept applications. In addition to the Natrona County Sheriff's Office and Casper Police Department, that includes the Evansville and Midwest Police Departments, Wyoming Highway Patrol, Wyoming Game and Fish, Natrona County Airport and U.S. Customs.
