Dishes from the French isle of Martinique will be served at the final cultural dinner for the 2014-15 school year at Casper College.  The dinner will be held on Thursday March 26, 2015 from 5pm to 6:30pm in the Tobin Dining Hall.

The Martinique cultural dinner will feature an appetizer of shrimp fritters, a spicy green chicken salad, grilled fish in Caribbean sauce, beef with peppercorn sauce, Martinique casserole with red peppers and black beans, herbed green beans, Creole rice, a for dessert Coconut Blancmange a coconut custard similar to a flan, and Bananas Martinique featuring bananas sauteed in sugar and rum.  A vegetarian version of the beef with peppercorn sauce, portabella mushrooms with peppercorn sauce, will also be served as well as a tropical fruit mocktail, according to chef Robert Underberg.

In addition, the dinner will feature an after-dinner presentation by Casper College World Language Instructor Charles Ewing, who will share photos and observations from his trip to Marinique.

Tickets for the Martinque are now on sale and are $12 for adults when purchased in advance by Friday, March 20 and $13.75 at the door for adults, $8.75 for ages 7 to 12, and free for children 6 and under.  Sales tax will be added to all ticket purchases.  Tickets may be purchased at the Casper College Business Office or the Gateway Cafe, both located on the third floor of the Gateway Building, as well as in Tobin Dining Hall during regular meal times.  Cash is accepted at all locations and credit cards are also accepted at the cafeteria and cafe.

Tobin Dining Hall is located in the Casper College Student Union.  Those attending the dinner are encouraged to use the parking lots located to the west of the building.
