Multiple community colleges in Wyoming will receive workforce enhancement grants, including the welding program at Casper College.

On Tuesday, Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon announced awards for Wyoming Works, an initiative that helps programs at Wyoming Community Colleges fund education that lead to secure employment.

According to a press release from Gordon's office, the welding program at Casper College will receive $154,990.59.

In March, state legislators approved the Wyoming Works program. The Wyoming Community College Commission vetted and approved four funding awards, including Casper College's award.

Other programs receiving funding are:

  • Met processing at Central Wyoming, Eastern Wyoming and Sheridan and Gillette Colleges, $777,809,41.
  • CDL Training at Laramie County Community College, Eastern Wyoming College and Northwest College, $850,400.
  • Production Technology at Laramie County Community College, $216,800.
