Beat The Heat And Enjoy The FREE Splash Pad At David Street Station
Summer is halfway over for the kids in Casper, and back-to-school is just around the corner. You're likely already beginning to budget for the new clothes, shoes, and supplies you'll need to purchase to prepare for another year of school.
So, how can you save money yet still keep the kids entertained?
David Street Station is the perfect answer, and this summer has been hoppin' at the station. Concerts, art walks, summer markets, beerfests, and family fun have been some of the highlights.
Another major highlight has been the splash pad; however, there have been some concerns from the public regarding its operation. The problem in years past was that the splash pad wasn't working properly, and this year it is.
The system is designed to run only when people are using it and shut down when they're not. Early in the season, the staff at David Street Station had the system repaired.
So, folks driving by or those using the splash pad don't see the water spraying and think the system is broken. This has caused a lot of uproar on social media, from people complaining that the FREE splash pad isn't working.
The sensor for the splash pad is located on the post on the east side of the pad. Press and hold the button to start the system. You only need to press it once. If it doesn't start right away, give it time to get started.
Understandably, you're there to use the pad to cool off, but the sensor has had to be replaced twice this year already due to people damaging it.
Again, please keep in mind that David Street Station is a free community space for recreation and fun in Casper.
