The Cheyenne Frontier Days general committee announced on Friday, the premier of the CINCH Rodeo Shootout on the opening day of Frontier Days, Friday July 18th, 2014.

The CINCH Rodeo Shootout is an invitational format that is considered by some to be the Rodeo's Tournament of Champions.  Champions in five events (Bareback, Barrel Racing, Bull Riding, Saddle Bronc and Steer Wrestling) from the 8 most prestigious rodeos in North America (Calgary Stampede, CFD, National Western Stock Show, San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo, Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, Reno Rodeo and Rodeo Austin) are invited, guaranteeing an action packed rodeo performance to help kick off the 2014 Cheyenne Frontier Days rodeo action.

Over 70k in prize money is on the line in a single afternoon of rodeo competition.

Fans will help choose which live stock are used and the order their favorite cowboys will ride in the Championship Round.

Tickets for the CINCH Rodeo Shootout hosted at CFD will go on sale to the public on April 4th.  Ticket prices will range from $18 to $30 and fans will receive a $3 discount if they purchase tickets prior to July 1st.

In addition, the first 3,000 ticket purchasers will receive a  voucher for a limited-edition T-shirt to commemorate the first ever CINCH Rodeo Shootout hosted at CFD.

The competition on that Friday will be followed that evening by John Mellencamp in concert at 8pm.
