Casper and all of Central Wyoming are about fed up with mother nature lashing out with weather. Record breaking snow, snow melt and now spring showers, have made for an exciting first half of 2023.

With the days warming, the Casper Mountains snow is melting off, but it's not all gone yet.

If you've driven around the area over the last few days, you've noticed an abundance of water...EVERYWHERE.

Rivers, creeks, gullies, parking lots, parks and waterfalls have been maxed out with water. So much so, you can see water in places people haven't seen water in years. It may seem like a pain in the backside, for some it may be, but Wyoming's been in such a drought over the past few years. A good water year is just what the Doctor ordered. Looking at this graph from the Wyoming Water Resources Data System & State Climate Office, which was put out in the first part of May, it shows that a large portion of Wyoming's drought has been down graded in many areas.

Though not fully out of the drought in some areas of the state, it sure looks better than the graph put out in March of 2022.

Glenrock has been hit pretty hard the last couple weeks with flooding. Parks were closed due to flood levels and the rapid speed of the water.
