CWF & Rodeo and ‘Voice of Casper’ Competition Begin – July 7th-15th, 2017
The Central Wyoming Fair and Rodeo kicks off on Friday, July 7th this year and runs through Saturday, July 15th. Plus registration is now open to participate in the Voice of Casper competition.
The fun begins on Friday July 7th, with the opening of the Crabtree Amusement Carnival on the midway, the largest carnival in the state of Wyoming! Carnival Day Passes are on sale in advance for $26 and allow for one person to ride all you want. 2017 Carnival Fun Passes, which are good for all 9 days of the Carnival, are $75 (a savings of over $200!).
Friday night will also mark the start of this year's 'Voice of Casper' singing competition. This free singing competition will give local singers an opportunity to showcase their talents for a chance to win some great prizes. Registration is open now and can be completed online this year. Reserve your spot now and start practicing for your chance to make a team during the blind auditions.
Saturday, July 8th, beginning at 8am, join the fun in Downtown Casper with the Annual Sidewalk Chalk Art Festival beginning with a free pancake breakfast from 8am-10am. All ages are welcome to join the fun and use the sidewalks of downtown Casper as your canvas. Then it’s back to the Fairgrounds with more fun on the midway and to watch the destruction on the dirt as the cars collide with the Demolition Derby! Seating is first come, first seated.
Sunday, July 9th, the Crabtree Amusement Carnival opens at 3pm and is joined by the Open Class BBQ, Beer and Wine contests starting at 5pm.
Tuesday July 11th, the action begins Downtown with the official kick-off of the Central Wyoming Fair & PRCA Rodeo with the Downtown Parade. After the Parade, head out to the fairgrounds at noon when exhibit halls, the Crabtree Amusement Carnival (where it’s Kid’s Day from 12pm-5pm). Beginning at 1pm, catch the first slack round of the PRCA Rodeo. At 7:30pm, the First Performance of the PRCA Rodeo gets underway where the top cowboys & cowgirls in the world compete in one of the top 30 Rodeo’s in the Nation! Enjoy 8 exciting events nightly including: Bull Riding, WPRA Barrel Racing, Bareback, Saddle Bronc, Steer Wrestling, Team Roping, Tie Down Roping, Mutton Bustin’, through the finals on Saturday, July 15th.
