WY Walleye Stampede Crowns Champions In Thrilling Governor’s Cup Finale

The 2025 Wyoming Walleye Stampede's 2nd Annual Governor's Cup, presented by Crowley Marine, is in the books, and the winners are still in awe that they are the champions.

The Father-in-Law/ Son-in-Law team of Bryan Muncy and Marcus Griffith took home the cup and just under $20,000 in prize money.

For winning the Governor's Cup, the duo scored a $15,000 team check. They won $400 in the family division, $2,000 for being the top Ranger boat finisher, $250 for being the top finishing in-state finisher, and $200 from a shootout that was sponsored by last year's Governor's Cup Champions Joe Rangle and Keith McClarney.

Both Muncy and Griffith will win Super Bowl-like champion rings, custom champion jackets, and their name etched into Wyoming Walleye Stampede history on the Governor's Cup. The cup is on display at Bellwood Boats in Glendo.

One hundred forty teams were signed up to spend the weekend testing their walleye fishing skills. Muncy and Griffith put together two solid days and were able to catch a total weight of 46.61 lbs to clinch their first Stampede event win.

The second-place team of Shane Habiterher and Randy Addleman also put in two strong, consistent days but just fell short with 45.45 lbs. Finishing in second place isn't too shabby. They will cash a $10,000 check.

A total of $77,700 was paid out to anglers in the second tournament of the 2025 Wyoming Walleye Stampede season. The top 28 teams were in the money, with all earning at least their $600 entry fee back.

There were many sponsored shootouts, day one and day two big fish contests, and multiple sponsored divisions (family, poor boy, dinosaur, and young guns), among other money-making opportunities for the anglers.

The third event of the season is scheduled for June 28-29 at Pathfinder Reservoir, presented by Frank's Butcher Shop and Brenton Mfg.
