Heading out to on a camping trip is always exciting from top to bottom. The planning stage, the gathering stage, the setting up stage, the camping process, teardown and putting things away.

There are probably a couple stages in there that you may not enjoy nearly as much as others, but in a way it's all enjoyable.

If you're like me and eating healthy, deciding what to bring with you to eat on your trip may be one of the toughest parts of the planning stage. You want to keep with you healthy habits, but also need foods that will give you energy enough to keep you going the whole time you're there.

I'm planning a camping trip for this weekend and ended up going down a rabbit hole of campfire/ camp stove cooking tips and tricks. One I came across was on a YouTube Channel called Outdoor Boys.

On this channel, the family loves to do all things outdoors together and one video I watched was 23 Best Camping Recipes - Basic & Gourmet Campfire Meals. When I saw the title, that's exactly what I was looking for. Something other than just hotdogs or beef jerky.

For the next 24 minutes, I watched him cook things like steamed muffins, fire pit eggs & sausage, ziplock omelets, steak & veggies, French toast, spam & eggs, biscuits & gravy and taco salad. The best part was, it was all pretty easy to cook and the instructions were made for camping.

A little big of pre-trip meal prep and you're set.

Some of the things he cooked, I wouldn't cook at home in a full kitchen, but most of the other things were simple. There's definitely quite a few of these that will be cooking for me this weekend.

16 Great RV Camping Areas In Wyoming

A Historic Hike To Wyoming's Outlaw Cave

The drive into the canyon is quite the beautiful drive. It's not too far from Kaycee, but you'll need a vehicle with good clearance and suspension. When you arrive to the Outlaw Cave Campground, you're mind is blown from the size of the canyon. The drive and hike are worth every minute spent on the road to get there.
