For the last couple of years, we've dealt with significant road construction around Casper, and the I-25 project has been a major one.

WYDOT announced on social media that the northbound I-25 bridge work over Center Street and North Platte River is nearing completion. Now, they need to change the traffic flow and begin on the southbound side of the bridges.

This process began last night around 8 p.m.

Crews closed the northbound on and off ramps at Poplar Street for a few hours while they did surface work.

Over the next few weeks, crews will prepare more to switch the traffic flow and move traffic to the north side.

The two-year I-25 bridge replacement project is about halfway finished. It began in mid-2023 and will continue until well into 2025.

In the latest Wyoming Road Work Guide issue, WYDOT District 2 construction engineer Mark Williams commented on the job's progress.

“The project is progressing on schedule.
This work was needed and will breathe new life into an aging highway. The new bridges should give us another 50-plus years of service with only normal maintenance.”

If you live in Wyoming, you know the main seasons. Winter, Spring, Construction, and Fall. Undoubtedly, we're in the middle of Construction season around the Cowboy State. On WYDOT's website, you can see all the projects underway. In total, around 50 road construction projects are going on in all areas of Wyoming.
