Community Calls For Safer Walkways Near Casper Sports Facilities
Casper is growing, and new facilities are popping up almost daily. New apartment buildings, homes, restaurants, stores, and sports facilities have been spotted all over town.
One of the concerns that many folks in Casper have is safety.
One of the safety concerns has been the new tennis and pickleball courts in Highland Park on Beverly Street.
The newly remodeled facility is home to Natrona County School District's tennis courts, and one of the problems residents are experiencing is the people trying to walk across Beverly.
Currently, there isn't a crosswalk at 5th, 6th, or 7th and Beverly, but people are parking on those streets and crossing Beverly to get to the park. Obviously, this isn't a safe option, but the closest crosswalk is at 4th and Beverly.
In the same post on the Casper Rants & Raves Facebook Page, another comment says there is a similar road crossing issue happening on Bryan Stock Trail near the North Casper Sports Complex Soccer Park.
I'm sure the City of Casper is aware of this situation, but if you notice something similar, please let the City know.
The City's website/ app has a section called the "Service Request Access" page. This gives you the ability to inform the City that something requires their attention.
