Plan Ahead, I-25 Closes Saturday Evening For Casper Construction Work
Stop me if you've heard this one before...
Road construction in Casper will close a major road.
We've discussed this a lot over the last few years, but to get the job done and move closer to completion, it has to happen.
Is it ideal? No. Can it be a pain in the backside? Yes. Does it have to happen? Yes.
In a few years, when the I-25 project is completed in the Casper area, we'll look back and think, "Hmmm, it wasn't that bad. I don't even remember the time that I had to reroute or got stuck in traffic while waiting for a big piece of machinery to move out of the way."
Now though, it seems like a much bigger deal than it is. We've all said, "ahhhh, man, I have to drive all the way up Bryan Stock Trail to Amaco Road and around the Ford Wyoming Center just to get onto North I-25" multiple times, but in reality, how much time does it actually take? Three extra minutes. That's it. I know, it seems like an eternity, right?
This weekend, I-25 will close again, but this time it may not be as irritating as past closures. This one will occur Saturday evening (September 19) at 7 pm and run through Sunday afternoon (September 20) around 2 pm.
A WYDOT District 2 social media post says the closure period is necessary to complete the installation of the new sewer lines and repair potholes in the active lanes of the construction zone.
Northbound traffic will detour from the Curtis Street/Wyoming Boulevard exit to Yellowstone Highway, and reenter the interstate from the Bryan Stock Trail on-ramp via the F Street connector. Southbound traffic will exit I-25 at the Beverly Street/Bryan Stock Trail off-ramp, detour to Yellowstone Highway, and reenter the interstate at the Curtis Street/Wyoming Boulevard on-ramp.
