Longtime Torrington Truck Stop Restaurant Closing Its Doors
After years of serving the community, The 307 Sports Bar & Grill in Torrington is closing its doors.
Julie Miller-Harshberger, who purchased the business (formerly known as Spirits of 77’ Sports Bar & Grill) with her husband, Charlie, and brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Tommi Miller, in January 2018, announced in a recent Facebook post that Sunday, Jan. 21 would be their last day.
“Tonight we had an emergency meeting with our employees,” the Nov. 29 post reads. “We were informed recently that our lease will not be renewed!”
Since sharing the sad news, Miller-Harshberger’s post has garnered more than 100 comments, many from folks hoping the business can relocate.
But Miller-Harshberger says they’ve looked at several places and nothing has panned out.
“We want to thank all our loyal customers and employees through the years,” she said. “We will have a big bash before we close!”
“We have a total of 31 employees that will be losing their jobs, please, Goshen County come together to help us find job opportunities for these employees," she added.
Miller-Harshberger says they haven’t been told what’s going into the location once they move out, but rumor has it it’s going to be a fast food chain.
"We would appreciate your support for us and the employees (until) the last day," she said.
