People Are Seeing Exciting Signs Of Spring Around Casper
It's the simple things that will get you excited for the season changes around these parts. Sure, we could see snow a few more times before summertime, but we get pumped when we start seeing certain things happening.
Earlier this week, I noticed the crews were starting to take down the snow fence on Casper's Municipal Golf Course.
That's a great sign!
Then the next day, I saw them taking the tarps off the greens.
That is a fantastic sign!
As soon as those two things happened, and the temperatures were in the 60s & 70s, the next thing to happen was the golfers began showing up.
Now, I'm chomping at the bit because I saw the Facebook post we've all been waiting for: THE COURSE IS OPENING!
Well, some of the courses are opening.
Two of the three nine-hole courses (Park & Highlands) will be open to the public, and carts will be available beginning April 1.
This isn't an April Fool's joke; this is legit.
The plan is (weather permitting) to have the Links course open within a week or two after the first two. It's Wyoming, and Mother Nature doesn't always play with how we set our plans.
They'd like you to keep a couple of things in mind.
- There could still be frost early in the mornings, so you are asked not to tee off until after 8:30 a.m.
- Golf Carts will be available.
- The driving range and golf shop are open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Before long, we'll be teeing off, stopping at the 19th Hole to have a couple of beers and lunch before we make the turn.
