Casper Airport Rallies Community To Help TSA Workers In Need
If you've been in an airport lately, you know things move pretty slowly right now. The partial government shutdown is affecting the process of entering and moving through security due to the severe TSA crisis.
TSA agents haven't received a full paycheck since mid-February, causing some agents to resign and others to call out more frequently. In return, that's causing delays in security lines.
As we navigate through these issues, remember that with Spring Break, even without TSA issues, the airports are busier this time of year.
The Casper/Natrona County International Airport has shared some tips and reminders to help you navigate the arrival procedures.
Being a TSA agent is a tough job in normal times, and now the difficulty has increased significantly. To support the Casper agents who aren't getting a paycheck, CNCIA is running a continuous collection drive during the shutdown.
When considering your donation, think about the items your family uses daily. For instance, toiletries, non-perishable foods, pet supplies, household items (paper towels, toilet paper, etc), baby and kid items, or gift cards for groceries or gas. To donate, you can drop off your donation at the terminal building at the airport. There is a donation wagon near the safety podium.
Remember, these men and women are a part of our community, and they're working hard to keep the airport and flights safe. Wyoming is one of the most charitable states in the country, so let's keep the TSA agents and their families on top of our minds.
