Billboard released their official ‘Music’s Top Money Makers 2012‘ list yesterday (March 9) and sitting atop the celebrity-packed lineup was none other than country pop princess Taylor Swift. With a mind-boggling $35 million takeaway from 2011, Swift is sitting pretty just above some huge names — U2 came in second with $32 million — due primarily to her ‘Speak Now’ record and the accompanying world
Taylor Swift Tops Billboard Year-End Charts
Taylor Swift is the top country artist of the year, according Billboard magazine. The annual lists of year-end charts were just revealed, and Swift leads in many country categories, including album sales, downloads and tour revenue. She also ranks amongst the most played country artists of 2011.
Taylor Swift Is Billboard’s 2011 Woman of the Year
Billboard has shown a great deal of love to Taylor Swift by honoring her as its latest Woman of the Year. Swift, 21, has been recognized before by this prestigious music industry trade, receiving titles for Top Country Artist, Top Country Album and Top Billboard 200 Artist. But this new recognition makes her the youngest artist ever to earn the honor.

Today's "legend" is Kathy Mattea.  Kathy began recording in 1983.  To date, she's recorded seventeen albums and has had more than thirty singles on Billboard's Hot Country Singles & Tracks charts. One of her most famous tunes, Eighteen Wheels and a Dozen Roses is from the 1987 album, "Untasted Honey."  It went number one in the both the U.S. and Canada in 1988.

Reba McEntire signed her first record contract in 1975.  She continues to sing, record, act, and attract record breaking crowds to her live shows to this day. Her 14th studio album, Sweet Sixteen was released in 1989 and contained a cover of The Everly Brothers, Cathy's Clown. Her version would go to #1 on the Billboard Country charts.

My Country congratulations to Jason Aldean and Taylor Swift!  They each have a number one single, and split the Country charts, this week. Jason is on top of Billboard's Country Singles chart with, Don't You Wanna Stay, his hot duet with inaugural American Idol champion, Kelly Clarkson.  This marks Jason's sixth number one.  On the other side, we have Taylor Swift on the Mediabase Country Singles
Uncle Kracker Is Nashville Bound
CMT.com reports that on the heels of the success he achieved with his Top 10 country single, 'Smile,' Uncle Kracker is back in Nashville to begin work on his fifth studio album, the follow-up to 2009's 'Happy Hour.' Reportedly, he has already written more than 20 songs for the upcoming project.
