The creation and philosophy of Jason’s Friends Foundation, established in 1996, was inspired by the life of Jason William Eades (April 7, 1986 – November 11, 1995). To read more about Jason, please refer to the Jason’s Story page.
The Jason's Friends Foundation provides assistance to Wyoming families with children suffering from brain or spinal cord tumors and childhood cancers by providing advocacy, helping hands and encouragement in the face of despair.

“The Origin of Thankful Thursday” - created by Rodeo Rick
After getting my start in radio, many, many moons ago. I quickly discovered that one of the best parts of being a radio DJ was the satisfaction of working with local charities and organizations and being able to use the power of the microphone to help make a difference in the community.
There are so many great stories and other reasons why helping local charities is special and rewarding for me. Sometimes it’s the smile on a child’s face or a small high five, or it might be the “Thank You” hug from mother in tears after helping raise money for a family whose son was diagnosed with cancer. Or it could be the joyous cheers of a crowd as we celebrate and solute a soldier, who is returning safely home. There are thousands of reasons much like these and each one has a special place in the heart of a radio DJ and each one is just as rewarding.
As radio people, we do what we can to support all of these local causes and others. But, I still wanted to be able do more! And not just for one or two charities, but for lots of local charities in need!
Then it struck me, what if we got sponsors and threw a party each week that raised money for local charities. It could also help the local chapter or organization, by giving them a platform and opportunity to spread the word out about their cause and charity efforts?
Thus, Thankful Thursdays was born.
We want to invite you to be a part of it! Join us each Thursday afternoon, as My Country 95.5 will be throwing a party at the Beacon Club to support charities near and dear to the hearts of our community. We’ll also be raising money for our local charity in several ways. We’ll raise money with a 50/50 raffle, there will be a live auction and raffle items, donations and best of all - we’ll have a lot of fun doing it each week.
Did I mention that we are going to try and giveaway $500 Cash every week?
Indeed we will, in fact over the course of the next several months we hope to giveaway the $500 prize several times. How will we do this? It’s as simple as the song “99 Bottles of Beer on the Wall”, except instead of bottles of beer – we’ll have bottles of prizes and one lucky bottle will contain a $500 Cash prize. We’ll actually start with 95 bottles of prizes (numbered for My Country 95.5) and each week we’ll give nine lucky contestants a chance to draw out one bottle each and whatever prize they find inside the bottle they choose – that prize is theirs to keep! Each week, we’ll remove more bottles as we give them away, (95, 94, 93, 92, etc…) until we giveaway the Grand Prize of $500 dollars. Once the Grand Prize bottle is found, we will reload all 95 bottles with prizes the following week and start over again. Oh, I guess there is one small catch. You Can’t Win, If You’re Not There!!
Come join Rodeo Rick and My Country 95.5 for a live broadcast each Thursday from 5-7 PM from the famous Beacon Club. We’ll have tons of drink specials, including 50 cent drafts and $1 dollar off bottle beers, free samples from distributors and some awesome auction items from Western Distributing, Coors Brewing Company and more! Plus you’ll never know what other surprises might be in store each week!!
Grab your friends and co-workers and make plans now to join us each and every Thursday at the Beacon Club for Thankful Thursdays!!
(You must be at least 21 years old to attend. Western Distributing, Coors Brew Company, The Beacon Club, Jason’s Friends and My Country 95.5 encourage everyone to drink responsibly!)
