In what could be the next best thing since the invention of ectoplasm, the Ghostbusters, i.e. Peter Venkman, Ray Stantz, and Egon Spengler, along with newbie Winston Zeddemore, are back in business on the big screen!

Our friends at the Wyoming Movie Palaces have just announced that Ghostbusters, the hit 1984 movie from Ivan Reitman, is being resurrected at the Iris for three special showings.

For those not in the know, this ghostly comedy deals with three parapsychologists who after losing their jobs at a prestigious university, create a paranormal exterminator service that they call "Ghostbusters."

This movie is huge - I'm talking HUGE among me and my fellow Generation Xers.  It not only spawned a sequel, but two cartoons and a killer theme song sung by Ray Parker Jr.

It also starred a whole string of Hollywood A-listers like Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, Sigourney Weaver, Rick Moranis, Annie Potts, Ernie Hudson, and William Atherton.

Ghostbusters is playing at the Iris for three consecutive Thursday nights up until Halloween.  Showtimes are 7 pm on October 13th, 20th, and 27th.

So get dressed up, grab your friends, and make these next Thursday nights ones to remember with the Ghostbusters.
