Alabama had it all!  A distinct country sound all their own, a lead guitarist with a perm, a hippy for a drummer, and two cousins who grew dynamite beards,  that made for some of the best music we could have ever hoped to hear in the eighties and early nineties.

Alabama is actually credited with spotlighting the 'group' aspect of country music and paving the way for the many groups that would follow.  Their infusion of traditional country, southern rock, pop, and gospel would give the band a unique sound that many would try to imitate.

Alabama was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2005.

Here's Alabama from 1983 with The Closer You Get.
