LARAMIE -- The hits just keep on coming.

Late Wednesday, Cameron Murray announced he was entering the NCAA Transfer Portal. This morning, Wyoming defensive end Victor Jones and free safety Rome Weber, joined him.

This trio, along with quarterback Levi Williams and wide receiver Isaiah Neyor, are all eligible to play for another university immediately.

Keyon Blankenbaker also entered the portal right after the regular season. The nickel back didn't play in the Cowboys 52-38 victory over Kent State in Tuesday's Famous Idaho Potato Bowl in Boise.

Jones, a Sacramento, Calif., native, tallied 24 tackles, 3.5 sacks and forced a fumble for the Pokes this season. He also picked off a pass in a season-ending loss to Hawaii. The 6-foot-4, 245-pound junior has 72 career tackles and 6.5 sacks in part of four seasons in Laramie.

Last November, Jones was indefinitely suspended by head coach Craig Bohl for violating team rules. He missed the Cowboys final three games during a COVID-19 shortened campaign. He was reinstated to the roster before the 2021 season.

Weber didn't play a snap in 2020, deciding to opt out because of the ongoing pandemic. The San Bernardino, Calif., product rejoined his teammates this fall and recorded 41 tackles out of the UW secondary. Weber also snagged an interception and recovered a fumble.

During his two-year career, Weber totaled 79 tackles and two picks.

"I want to say thank you to everyone at the University of Wyoming for giving me the opportunity of a lifetime," Weber said in a tweet Thursday on his personal Twitter account. "To the coaching staff, strength staff, academic staff, fans, and most importantly, my teammates; thank you all for being a huge part of my journey and you will never be forgotten. I will always remember my days playing in the brown and gold. At this time, I will be entering the transfer portal with two years of eligibility left."

Murray, a 6-foot-1, 180-pound safety from Aurora, Colo., has already graduated and has one year of eligibility remaining. During his career in Laramie, spend mostly on the Cowboys' special teams' unit, Murray registered 10 tackles in 26 games.

With the losses of Murray and Weber to the portal, and the graduation of Braden Smith and Esaias Gandy, the safety spot has taken the biggest hit so far this offseason.
