The Troopers Drum & Bugle Corps, 'America's Corps,' are ringing in their 53rd year of providing wonderful music and entertainment, instilling pride, and serving as the musical ambassadors of our great state of Wyoming.  In honor of this grand occasion, The Troopers, before embarking on their 2011 musical tour, will be the guests of honor for Troopers Day, a day of community involvement and celebration on Saturday, June 4th.

If you're like me, you grew up with the Troopers, never missing an occasion to watch them perform, especially in the parade or when they would host and compete in the Drums Along The Rockies In a side note, our very own Doc Shutts is a proud alumnus of the corps.

If you're new to town or for whatever reason, have never heard of the Troopers, adorned majestically in the traditional uniform of the 11th Ohio Volunteer Cavalry, this is your chance.

They will start off bright and early Saturday morning at Ft. Caspar Museum.  Join the Troopers for a community breakfast showing off their new 45 ft commercial kitchen. (a much needed new amenity)  A five dollar donation is appreciated to offset costs, and this is also a nice opportunity to find out how you can get involved and volunteer with the corps.

Following breakfast,  watch the Troopers rehearse in preparation for the 2011 festival season.  Then at Noon, gather downtown and watch a stand-still horn line performance in front of Lou Taubert's.

The day concludes with the Troopers' annual fundraising event, A Night With The Troopers. This also takes place on the parade grounds of Ft. Caspar Museum.   Gates open at 4 pm with a dinner to be served at 5:30.

Included in the evening:

*  The inaugural Hall of Fame Inductions of Jim and Grace Jones, Tony Monterastelli, John Masterson, Ruth Anne Atnip, and Ted and Traute Gilbert.

*  The Troopers Drum & Bugle Corps performing their 2011 program as a stand-still performance.

The cost for A Night With The Troopers is $35 per person, or $1,000 for a corporate sponsorship.  Call the Troopers office at (307) 267-2421 for tickets or tables.
