Vince Gill Gets Degree

Congratulations to Vince Gill!  Or should I say congratulations 'Dr. Gill!'  That has a nice ring to it, huh?

The Go Rest High On That Mountain singer just received an honorary Doctor of Humanities degree from Nashville's Belmont University.  Yes!!

The famed institution of higher learning states that Vince's "contributions to Belmont University are plentiful."  This includes "raising funds for scholarship and program enhancement for athletics and music business programs, and it also includes cheering on the mens' basketball team for more than two decades."

Not a bad trade, Mr....er, Dr. Gill.  We're very proud of you!  Vince has a new album at his website called Love Songs, billed as the "essential collection from Vince Gill."

Vince will also be performing this Friday and Saturday night at the Grand Ole Opry.
