If you need a rush of patriotic adrenaline to start your week, watch this video of a golden eagle that was just released in Casper.

Janet Milek shared this video on YouTube and told the story of what happened to this golden eagle and what led to its release in Casper. She said this young eagle was picked up near Casper around a month and a half ago. Janet said the eagle had a dislocated shoulder probably from an encounter with a fence.

After the eagle's rescue, she said it was rehabilitated at the Teton Raptor Center in Jackson. This is all thanks to a good citizen who saw the eagle on the ground and contacted Wyoming Game and Fish.

The idea of this release was to get the golden eagle back to near where they found it to resume its life in the wild. Watching this eagle fly free might be about as good as it gets for me in America today.
