The bones of a massive - and I man G I A N T crocodile were found in Albany County, Wyoming.

WAIT... WHAT?

Crocodiles here in Wyoming?

Actually, according to noted Wyoming outdoorsman Paul Ulrich, whose family owns Ulrich’s Fossil Gallery in Kemmerer,

“Wyoming has one of the richest deposits of fossils in the world,” he said in an interview with Cowboy State Daily. “This particular fossil was found in the Morrison formation, which is actually somewhat older than the formation we excavate. This shows crocodiles have been in Wyoming, literally, from the Jurassic period for tens of millions of years.”

Way back then Wyoming was a steaming tropical swamp.

Apparently, the beast would have weighed in at nearly one-half ton and sported a mouth packed with 30 2-inch-long, razor-sharp teeth. The “crocodile” would have lived during the late Jurassic period, around 200 million years ago. (Cowboy State Daily).

Actually, none of this is surprising, except for the size of this crock.

As science shows us the Earth is always changing. Nothing stays the same. Those natural changes are still happening to this day.

Wyoming has been under the ocean, a warm steamy tropical swamp, under a mile of ice more than once and even much higher than it is now.

While at one point the area we now call Wyoming was once a hot steamy wet swamp, it was also as dry and sandy and the deserts of Iraq.

Currently, Wyoming is going through another dry period. This area is now considered a high dry grassy desert.

Yet give it another few million years and Wyoming might be tropical again, or under a mile of ice again.

The only thing that is normal on an ever-changing planet with an ever-changing climate is that nothing stays the same and there is nothing we can do about it.
