The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is inviting all women Veterans to a full-day event in Casper on August 2. The event was designed to provide women veterans with an opportunity to connect in a comfortable setting.

The event, called POWW (Promoting Our Women Warriors), will be held at the Ramkota Hotel for ladies who have served in the military and would like to spend the day with other women who have had similar experiences.

Naval Veteran and Sheridan VA public affairs officer Kristina Miller says events like POWW are important for women vets.

The connection we have while serving often gets lost, especially for women, when we leave the military. We hold this event to help ladies find that camaraderie again.

Activities are a big part of POWW because we know connecting can be hard. This is especially true for ladies like me who are introverts. By providing activities, along with educational options, it is easier to rebuild that sense of sisterhood.

POWW 2025 will include breakfast and lunch, as well as other activities designed to foster connection, camaraderie, and community engagement.

  • Making indoor herb gardens
  • Yoga and breathwork
  • Vibrational sound healing
  • Beaded earring-making
  • A mind-body workshop by the Red Cross
  • A tea and self-care session
  • Drumming
  • Cupcake decorating

Several breakout sessions will be offered as well:

  • Army Veteran and author Elizabeth Estabrooks will present "Broken in Stronger Places."
  • Nave Vet and founder of The Pink Berets, Stephanie Gattas, will present "Redefining Resilience: Moving Beyond 'Just Push Through'
  • AARP's Jenn Baier will present "Six Pillars of Brain Health."
  • VA's Chaplain Sara and Archambeay will present "Spirituality and Moral Injury."

There will also be events on Friday, leading up to POWW:

  • A tour of the Wyoming Veterans Memorial Museum and a film-making workshop.
  • Friday evening gathering hosted by The Pink Berets

The event is open to women veterans, but registration must be completed by July 25 to ensure the VA has sufficient food for everyone.
