Wyoming Mayor Plots PETA Rebuttal
People For The Ethical Treatment of Animals president and co-founder Ingrid Newkirk sent a letter to Cheyenne city officials today, offering to provide meatless roasts for the event.
So apparently PETA will not consider that the chickens are already dead, frozen, and are past their cooking expiration date. They want people pushing what looks, and frankly tastes, like a frozen piece of cardboard down the ice instead.
Cheyenne's mayor Marian Orr came to the AM650 KGAB studios in Cheyenne Wyoming to discuss some important issues facing this city. There was no way she was not going to add this to the topic list.
The mayor is not sure exactly how the city will respond to PETA but she assured everyone she has sufficiently sarcastic staff employees that can craft an official response the will represent what the people of Cheyenne and the state of Wyoming wish to say.
As soon as said response is crafted it will be published here and the mayor will be invited back on the air to read it.
The tournament is scheduled to take place on Saturday, March 24th. The event is one of several curling tournaments across the country to feature frozen chickens and turkeys.
If you were not planning on attending we would like to encourage you to do so for many obvious reasons, including telling PETA where to put it.
