When you think of rodeo, you think of Wyoming. Shoot, rodeo is the official state sport, we're known as the cowboy state, and the state symbol is a bucking horse. Wyoming is home to nightly rodeos all through the summer, four major stops on the PRCA Playoff run, and is home to one of the most legendary rodeos, Cheyenne Frontier Days.

Now, Wyoming could be the official home of the PRCA national headquarters, along with the PRCA Hall of Fame and Museum of the American Cowboy. The PRCA Board of Directors has approved a non-binding memorandum of understanding to consider relocating to Cheyenne.

The Capital City offered to build a brand new Hall of Fame and an administrative building to house the PRCA headquarters near the intersection of I-25 and I-80. If all goes well, the transition to the new facility will take place in early 2029, and Governor Gordon emphasized the importance of rodeo to Wyoming.

Rodeo has been a part of Wyoming since before we were a state. It is in our DNA. I grew up roping a dummy at every PRCA rodeo, first my dad and then myself, competed in.

There is no better place on Earth than right here in the Cowboy State for the PRCA to be headquartered. We have the legacy, respect the tradition, and will always honor the cowboy way and Code of the West. Powder River, Let'er Buck!

For the move to happen, the Wyoming Legislature will need to approve the funding for the facility. Cheyenne's LEADS Board of Directors has already committed $15 million, with the remaining funds to be funded by public and private sources.

Obviously, the potential move is in the early stages, and as time goes on, details on funding, design, and timelines will be released.
