Cheyenne Man Charged with Choking Mother of His Child
A 33-year-old Cheyenne man could face up to five-and-a-half years in prison after allegedly choking the mother of his child.
Police were called to Kevin Porter's home on Nov. 19 after he allegedly threw his ex-girlfriend to the ground and choked her.
An affidavit says the woman had bruises, lacerations and scratches around her neck and told paramedics, "I couldn't breathe and thought I was going to die."
Police say the two were living together because they shared a child.
Porter has been charged with strangulation of a household member-throat or neck and domestic battery-first offense.
Porter is currently being held in the Laramie County Jail on a $5,000 cash bond. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Dec. 1 at 10 a.m.
