Hey Diary:

Nothing says self-adulation like your friendly neighborhood Cowboy Troy bragging about his upcoming wedding and showing off all over the website.  I think it's a good idea.  Not only will I raise my profile, but I'll satisfy my quota, AND save money on therapy sessions by being able to discuss with you, the joy, the pain, the laughter, the tears, the comedy, and the relief of preparing for my first (and God-willing, last) wedding.  You up for this?

So, you know I'm getting married, right?  We are approaching the six month countdown, actually.  Ahh...I remember just like it was yesterday when on a blustery and snow-flaked afternoon, I would propose to the friendliest, prettiest, smartest, goodest, neatest and sweetest person on the planet.  It was like me asking me to marry myself!  How could I get so lucky?  How did she get so lucky?  It was the most beautiful moment of my life, and it's about to become the second.

But first, I have to survive this *%$!!&% wedding planning!!

I so didn't want to do this part, I would've hired J-Lo!  "Honey, Vegas is calling," I would say.  But, it's getting better.  Don't get me wrong; I still drive her crazy, but at least she's speaking to me this week.  That's because we're this ( ) close to actually getting the announcements sent out.

There's something to be said about seeing your names together in print for the very first time on a gorgeous card that you both helped design.  I think I helped design it.  She asked me if it was cool, and I nodded or something.  Heh, heh, I'm joking (a little).  The moment that we both opened the box for our first look, it was magical and very special.  That moment solidified the fact that we are indeed going to become a family of our very own.  We both joked that "there was no backing out, now."

After she put together the website, wrote our bios, downloaded our pictures, prepared the guest list, ordered the invitations, designed the invitations, inserts, address labels and stickers and after her mom took on addressing the envelopes - I have almost managed to get all of the people on my side of the list to them.

It seems kind of lop-sided, I know.  Who would have thought getting addresses would be so tough?  But when you know actors, musicians, radio people, on top of your regular friends and family, that list gets pretty big.  Plus I have a knack for putting things off.  Good thing she took care of most of that, too!  Yeah, I drive her crazy.

Well, diary, I don't know about you but I'm feeling much better after our first little session.  I'm sure that will all change by next week when it's time to tackle something else on the list, but for now...let's go with it!

I'll be in touch.
