Do We Really Need to Start Putting Fitness Trackers on Our Animals?
When I first saw this article I sincerely thought it was a joke. I mean who really wants to keep track of all the activities your animal is up to while you're at the office? Most of us have a hard enough time keeping track of our own lives let alone our pets.
I found this on Digg.com and a company out of the UK has actually given this a little test run on a cat. No surprise that their test subject didn't do anything out of the ordinary for cat-like behavior.
So overall, I see this as a less than stellar business opportunity. Aside from the fact that I guess you could use it if your animals got lost or was taken from the yard or something like that. Oh, and on top of which they want to charge you for the service of tracking your animals' activities.
No thanks. I think I'll just leave them as they are when I leave the house. What about you? Would you be willing to pay for such a service?
