A New Indoor Pickleball Complex Is Coming To Casper

America's fastest growing sport is a sport that is designed for anyone to play. Age, sex, height, weight or athletic ability are not a concern when you're playing pickleball.

The sport that's been around since the 60's, but has really taken off in the country since 2020 and the pandemic hit. Everyone was looking for something to get outdoors, get some exercise and be active.

Here in Casper, the pickleball craze really started to take off in 2021 and now there are leagues, tournaments and even a credited course at Casper College.

There are a couple issues with playing pickleball in Casper, Wyoming.

1. The "W" word - the ball looks like a whiffle ball. Light weight and full of holes.

2. The OTHER "W" word...WINTER - Snow, cold weather and if that sport is being played outdoors and, on a court, it just doesn't work.

Good news though, Casper.

Opening very soon is the Casper Pickleball and Sports Complex.

The new complex will be over 35,000 square feet of state-of-the-art pickleball and batting cage facilities that have yet to be seen in Casper.

Sam Dia, who is the General Manager of the facility, USA Pickleball District Wyoming state ambassador and teaches the credited courses at Casper College, says the plans have been in motion for a while.

We started talking about it in the beginning of the year, believe it or not, we found the place. The construction only started just a couple of months ago.

Original plans were to have the complex open in November but Sam says it'll be more like early December.

It's coming along, a few hiccups here or there, but it's coming along.

The facility will offer 3 tiers of memberships

Free Membership - Pay as you go

Gold Membership - Open play, discounted prices on facility rentals, equipment and other benefits

Platinum Membership - Pay one fee for all day play, equipment, batting cage use and facilities.

Here are some of the features that will eventually all be found at the facility.

• 8 indoor pickleball ONLY courts - The courts will not be concrete; they'll be surfaced with the same material used for the U.S. Open tennis courts. It's called Laykold Masters Gel, and it's the most advanced surface for courts in the world.
• 8 indoor professionally designed turf batting cages. - (4) 60' (4) 75' - Perfect for all year-round team workouts or fun with friends.
• Men's and women's locker rooms
• Party Room - great for birthdays, office events or holiday parties.
• Retail Pro Shop
• Workout area with Cardio Equipment
• Lounge Area with future plans of further development and added features.

The new Casper Pickleball & Sports Complex is a much-needed additive to the Casper community. Hopefully opening and ready for pickleball play in the beginning of December.

The facility is located at 1911 Dunlap Way in the old Packers Plus Energy Services Inc building.
