Your Inner Child Will Love Casper’s Kickball League
Being an adult is hard. You're dealing with your job, kids, spouse, paying bills, issues with your home, and your car.
Life was so much easier when you were a kid and didn't have to do anything but be a kid.
Deep down, that kid is still there, trapped deep down in your soul, and you wish you could let that inner kid come out once in a while.
The Casper Recreation Division is giving you the outlet you're looking for at the end of August. As the kids get back into the routine of going to school, you can let the inner kid out by playing the popular playground game of kickball.
The 2025 fall coed kickball season kicks off on August 20. If you were always picked last when teams were being picked when you were in school, you can change your destiny by becoming a team captain and organizing your team.
Registration is open and will be open until August 3.
The season will be six weeks long, and you'll play your games either on Tuesdays or Wednesdays each week at Mike Lansing Field.
If you're trying to decide if signing up for a kickball league is a good idea or if softball would be a better option, that's a fair question.
Here are a couple of things to condsider:
- As you age, both kickball and softball can lead to injuries that put you on the sidelines, but are less likely in kickball.
- There are no bats to get hit with.
- The actual kickball isn't going to hurt as much if you get hit with it as a "softball."
- Softball players may wear metal cleats, which can lead to injuries to themselves or other players if they slide. Metal cleats in kickball could end the game fairly quickly if the cleat hits the ball.
- In kickball, you don't need extra equipment (gloves, bats, batting gloves, etc.), so the cost of playing week-to-week is lower.
- In softball, if you aren't a very good hitter or can't catch using a glove, you may be riding the pine for the season.
- In kickball, the only skills you need are to be able to kick, run/walk, see the big red ball, and have fun.
