It's not exactly breaking news that Wyoming has epic places to backpack, but one in particular was just named the best backpacking trail in America and I could not agree more.

Only In Your State just declared the Teton Crest Trail as good as it gets if you have a pack on your back and want to see pretty things while you hike. That's a good call.

Clever Hiker provided some of the technical details about why the Teton Crest Trail is among America's best hikes. The measured it at around 40 miles which would easily take a regular person around a week to traverse. The Teton Crest Trail tops out at well over 10,000 feet at its highest and ranks it as moderate to difficult with an ascent of over 8,000 feet. Yikes.

If you read the reviews on All Trails, you'll see it's almost entirely 5-star rated. Hiker Mar Ferreira said...

Words cannot describe how gorgeous this trail is.

In a state like Wyoming that has some of the best hiking in America, it's quite something to be called the greatest of them all. Cannot argue that the Teton Crest Trail deserves this praise.
