Wyoming... you never know what you'll find or see here. It wasn't long ago that the episode of Ghost Adventures began streaming, featuring their investigation in Casper. It's not the first time Casper has been featured in a show, movie, or on television. IMDB has Casper, Wyoming, listed as a 'filming location' on 44 projects.

Many of the 44 projects are labeled as short (short films); there are music videos that give Casper the filming credit, projects under the documentary category tip their hat to Casper, a few movies, and a couple of TV shows have featured Casper.

Do you remember when Dog the Bounty Hunter filmed a segment for the CMT show 'Dog and Beth: On The Hunt' in Casper? The show was a spinoff of the popular Dog the Bounty Hunter show. On the new show, Dog and his crew flew around the country to help other bailbondsmen round up fugitives.

Here's the description for the episode:

Dog and Beth head to the wilds of Casper, WY, to help Jeanine Beagle and the bounty hunting cowboys of Action Bail Bonds track down a dangerous Iraq War veteran gone rogue. After meeting one young fugitive who has hit rock bottom, the Chapmans organize the community to help clean up the troubled woman's life.

How about in the early days of the UFC, when in 1995, UFC VI: Clash of the Titans was live from the Ford Wyoming Center (formerly Casper Events Center). The event was live on pay-per-view and later released on home video.

The fight night featured Ken Shamrock becoming the first UFC Superfight Champion, a tournament-style fight card, Referee 'Big' John McCarthy, and ring announcer Michael Buffer.

At the time, not one of the 2,700 fight fans in attendance would've ever predicted that the UFC would be as huge as it is now. They just wrapped up UFC 321 in front of 13,220 in Abu Dhabi, with over 750 total events since they began in 1993.  If you were there, you can scan this video to see if you made it on camera.

It's always fun to see Casper and other Wyoming cities featured, and leave people wondering how such a cool place was chosen as the filming location for that particular project.

Vintage Wyoming Movie Posters

I love walking down the hallway of a modern movie theater and looking at the old posters of vintage movies.

That got me thinking about old Westerns based on Wyoming. How many of those posters are still around?

Many are, and many are for sale online, if you want to decorate your home, or even home theater, with classic and mostly forgotten movie posters.

Most of these films were made before the era of television. Hollywood was cranking out these things as fast as they could.

The plots, the scrips, the acting, directing, and editing were SO BAD, they were good.
