A Florida woman guaranteed herself a night in lock-up after using a set of keys to gouge her boyfriend's face during a domestic dispute.

The woman, whose name was not released, became angry at her beau when he suggested she wind down her alcohol consumption for the evening – which happened to be her 21st birthday. When she bought more booze after going into a gas station to pick up a pack of smokes, he began to yell at her, at which point she grabbed his car keys and began scratching him across the face with them.

A bystander eventually called cops, who booked the woman on battery charges. She's due in court later this month. (NWF Daily News)

A Florida man is behind bars after getting into a brawl with a police chief who objected to his reading of the Constitution, namely his view that he had "the constitutional right to kill any cop he thought was bad."

Daytona Beach Police Chief Mike Chitwood initially ignored Michael Dangelo's ranting, but when he turned to walk away, Dangelo spat on the back of his neck, then started to bite his hand, at one point clamping down so hard, the chief said, "I thought I'm going to lose my finger if he keeps it up." He was able to subdue the man with some help from bystanders.

Dangelo was charged with two felonies – aggravated battery against a law enforcement officer and resisting an officer with violence – and a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct. (Orlando Sentinel)

The NCAA Tournament is always full of interesting facts and story lines. This year, one intriguing nugget of information is something that people in The Lone Star State are already sadly aware of.

For the first time since 1977, there is not one school from Texas in the tournament. No UT, no Baylor, no Texas A&M. Just three years ago, Texas sent seven teams to the tournament. This year, California, North Carolina and Pennsylvania can boast about having the most schools with five each. Sorry Texas. If it makes you feel better, the college football season is only about five months away. (NCAA.com)
