Earthquakes have become the norm lately in southwest Montana. Late Monday night, there was a fairly significant quake that over 600 people reported feeling.

According to the USGS, the earthquake near Manhattan, Montana registered a 4.1 on the Richter scale. It was centered here according to the USGS.

The USGS has what they call a "felt report" where residents can let them know if they detected a quake and by how much. As of this writing, 660 people in that region said yes. That's a big number for this part of the country since many quakes happen in fairly remote regions.

This area is capable of much larger quakes as we're nearing the 60th anniversary of the 1959 Hebgen Lake quake that registered a 7.5 just north of Yellowstone.
