Why Powder River Rodeo Is A Wyoming Treasure
As winter gives way to spring and spring to summer, the rodeo action in Wyoming is heating up.
Before you know it, the Cody Nite Rodeo, CNFR, Chris LeDoux Days, Central Wyoming Fair and PRCA Rodeo, National High School Finals Rodeo, Cheyenne Frontier Days, Longmire Days, and rodeos at every county fair, festival, and community gathering around Wyoming will be under way. Interestingly enough, we're not the only ones excited for the hot summer rodeo action to get rolling.
There's a crew in the Riverton, Wyoming area that is just as excited and training to be the best it can be...Wyoming's Powder River Rodeo L.L.C. When I saw their Instagram post, it go me all fired up to check out some great rodeo action.
The award-winning, legendary rodeo livestock company has been among the top and most respected companies for nearly 40 years. Producing top-notch broncs is a full-time job that owners Hank and Lori Franzen have been doing consistently for years. Just like most years, Powder River Rodeo will be busy, busy, busy. It will travel all over the Mountain West, into Canada, and to the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas in December. Looking at their schedule, they may be in states like California and Utah for events, but they're also at Wyoming events in Thermopolis, Rock Springs, and their hometown of Riverton.
I found their 2019 highlight reel and immediately came down with a new illness sweeping Wyoming called Rodeo Fever.
