Defending 4A state champion Sheridan wasted no time in getting the upper hand against Laramie in the quarterfinal round playoff game on Friday. The Broncs got a 54-yard touchdown pass from Cael Gilbertson to Mathew Ketner to take the lead for good just 22 seconds into the game. Sheridan owned the first 3 quarters of play en route to a 52-27 win to get to 10-0 on the season.

After Ketner's touchdown, Colson Coon found the end zone and Ketner went off again for another long TD run that covered 78 yards so it was 21-0 Broncs after one-quarter of play. Coon scored again in the 2nd quarter on an 11-yard run and once in the 3rd quarter on a scamper that covered 78 yards. Dane Steel and Terran Grooms also contributed scores for the Broncs in the 3rd quarter while Laramie finally got on the board with an 8-yard touchdown pass from Ben Malone to Mason Branch.

Malone ended up throwing 3 TD passes in the 4th quarter when the game was out of reach as the Plainsmen finished the campaign at 2-8. Laramie has not posted a winning season in football since 2000.

Sheridan is in the 4A semi-finals for the 15th straight year and will host 7-3 Cheyenne Central on Friday night. We have some stellar photos of the game in our gallery below courtesy of Jolie Fay. Enjoy!
