Photofest: Sheridan Bounces Natrona in 4A Football

Defending 4A football champion Sheridan has been fierce this season and sits at 8-0 following a convincing 42-7 win over Natrona on Friday Sheridan didn't waste much time getting on the scoreboard as Terran Grooms found the end zone on a 41-yard run to give the Broncs a 7-0 lead.

The speedy Dane Steel was next on the Sheridan scoresheet with a 48-yard touchdown run and returned a punt 66 yards for another touchdown. The scoring continued for the Broncs as Grooms recorded his 2nd rushing touchdown of the night on a play that covered 24 yards and Steel scored for the 3rd time on an 8-yard run. Sheridan had a commanding 35-0 lead at the halftime intermission.

Sheridan continued the onslaught in the 3rd quarter as quarterback Dom Berrettini tossed a 68-yard TD pass to Breck Reed. Natrona's lone score came in the 4th quarter on a 1 yard run from Beau Russell.

Sheridan is the #1 seed in the 4A playoffs and will conclude the regular season hosting Campbell County in the old-fashioned Energy Bowl. Natrona is 6-2 and will be on the road at Thunder Basin on Friday. If the Mustangs win, they will be the #3 seed in the 4A playoffs. The Mustangs could be the 4 seed or even the 5th seed with a loss along with the outcome of the Sheridan-Campbell County game.
