Thunder Basin played host to Natrona County in 4A football on Friday and these teams were playing for favorable seeds for the upcoming playoffs. Thunder Basin opened the scoring in the first quarter as quarterback Alonso Aguilar found Antonio Avila for a 10-yard touchdown to give the Bolts a 7-0 lead.

Natrona responded with a touchdown of their own in the 2nd quarter as Beau Russell ran it in from 3 yards out so it was a 7-all game heading into the halftime intermission. Thunder Basin regained the lead in the 3rd quarter as Aguilar hooked up with Landon Scalise on a play that covered 88 yards for a TD, putting the Bolts in front 14-7.

Natrona responded yet again as quarterback Trig Berens hit Aiden Youmans for 24 yards and a touchdown and it tied again at 14. Thunder Basin found the end zone later in the 4th quarter as Avila caught his 2nd TD of the game and that went for 50 yards as the Bolts held on to beat the Mustangs 21-14.

Both teams finished 4A regular season play at 6-3. Thunder Basin will be the 5th seed and will take on cross-town rival Campbell County in the opening round of the 4A playoffs on Friday night. Natrona is the #3 seed and will host Cheyenne Central in round one on Friday night at 6 p.m.
